Each two hour session includes a 30 minute dance workshop, a 30 minute singing lesson and a 30 minute drama workshop. This is flexible and changes to meet the needs of upcoming shows and performances. There will be a warm up to begin with and a short break with a tuc shop halfway through the session.

Groups are split according to age and rotate around the various workshops each week, each group having no more than eight children, with the youngest group having an extra assistant staff member to help with bathroom breaks and the like!

The main aim of the singing lesson is to teach the group a song each week from the musical theatre or pop music world, but it also looks at vocal techniques and exercises such as breathing, projection, pitch, scales and arpeggios. Learning to sing with others, harmonise, sing backing and lead vocals all feature. Learning to read music and working towards accredited singing grades is also something we can offer. The material is age appropriate and presented in a way that engages and interests the students.

In dance class, our professional dance tutor works with the group on many different forms - from pop dance to contemporary, street dance to ballet, the kids will learn stretches and warm ups and will work on a choreographed piece each week, building towards performances at our shows.

The drama session will link in with the singing workshop when we are working on specific shows, learning scripts, performance and movement but also learning about teamwork.  Through games and sketches confidence will be built and new friendships will be formed. Ideal for children with an active imagination! As well as this we offer group and solo LAMDA qualifications.
