Jenny Skinner - Shine Co-ordinator and Drama Tutor

I attended stage school at the age of eighteen and studied as a triple threat performer. Whilst there I completed my LAMDA Grade 8 Solo Acting and shortly after received a Licentiate in Speech and Drama from Trinity College London.

I then attended Leeds Beckett University where I received a first class degree in performance. I currently work as a freelance performer and writer, collaborating with fringe and early career artists in Leeds whilst studying MA Performance.

I have experience working with a variety of acting techniques, from Stanislavski and Hagen to Brecht and Berkoff. I have also extensive experience studying and acting Shakespeare.

Over the last two years I have taught drama to children and adolescents of all ages and abilities. I also have extensive experience working with children with additional needs and knowledge of Makaton and BSL.

Rosa Sargent - Singing Tutor

My love of performance began at the age of 3 when I started dance lessons. Over 13 years I took classes in ballet (achieving Intermediate Foundation Level) and modern dance (achieving Intermediate Level) as well as tap, jazz, Greek and musical theatre.

I had the honour of performing as one the Pantomime Sunbeams at The Bradford Alhambra for 3 consecutive years. I also performed in La Fille Mal Gardée Ballet & What We Did For Love, also at The Bradford Alhambra. I was in countless productions at Sara Packham’s Theatre School and through school. In secondary school I fulfilled a personal dream of playing Eponine in Les Miserables.

I continued my love of performing, taking up both guitar and piano in order to accompany my vocals, gigging locally, performing at festivals and in pubs and clubs. I have sung in many different configurations; in ensembles, choirs, duets, quartets, solo as well as in a soul and motown band.

Throughout this I realised singing was my focus so began having vocal training. I achieved a Distinction at Grade 8 in RSL. I also studied A Level Performing Arts in which I achieved an A, receiving 97% in my final performance.

I now teach people of all ages, teaching choirs, group sessions and one to one (offering training towards RSL grades).

Emily Ellershaw - Dance Tutor

I have been dancing since I was 4 years old, the styles of dance I have been taught through extensive training are; ballet, tap, jazz, comtempory, lyrical, and hip-hop and street. I have completed Royal Academy of Dance awards (RAD) awards at high levels. In ballet I reached an intermediate level (grade 7), and in tap grade 6.

I have had extensive training in different methods of contempory and classical ballet. As well as this I have been a part of numerous performances from a young age and performed multiple times at the Alhambra theatre. By doing different shows in different styles at different stages I have learnt great discipline, stage presence and direction, both on and off stage.

I have currently completed a child care and development degree at level 2 and 3 and I have recently started my Foundation Degree in supporting teaching and learning. I aspire to be a teacher in education and in dance.
